BSPF Presidency heads north Of border as Booth takes reins
The recent UK Pool and Spa Conference provided an ideal platform for the BSPF to see the handover of the annual presidency from Jamie to newly elected president, Stephen Booth.
Stephen of Alba Pools, Brechin, Scotland, has been in the business for 25 years and has been a stalwart supporter of the organisation during that time.
Stephen told delegates he wanted to use his year in office to continue the work started during Jamie’s year in office to see the recruitment of more members to both SPATA and BISHTA and unveiled plans for the development of more formalised training and qualifications.
“We must now take this training to a new level which we plan to achieve through a nationally recognised qualification,” Stephen said.
“Coming from Scotland, I am aware of the need to reinforce the message to companies that they also need to be part of the BSPF family.
“Together, we can safeguard our industry from some of the poor practice by some non–members as this can tarnish us all. “
Following the election of Stephen Booth as president, Ben Studdy, of Certikin, has now been confirmed as vice president with Tony Welsby, of Spacrest Europe, elected as junior vice president. A special presentation was made to out-going past-president, Stephen Crabb of Catalina Spas.
