Local firm scoops 4 industry Oscars! Alba Pools, based in Brechin, are once again celebrating following their win of four prestigious British pool industry awards.

The firm won a total of three Gold and one Silver Awards at SPATEX 2010, the British pool industry’s equivalent to Hollywood’s Oscars which was held recently at the Hilton Metropole Exhibition Centre in Brighton. The awards are made by SPATA (The Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association) – the UK industry watchdog for pool building standards.

No strangers to SPATA awards, the company previously not only, won a Gold SPATA award in 2006 for best commercial pool for a hotel in Stratford upon Avon and a Certificate of Merit for a private indoor pool in Aberdeen, but also in 2004, were awarded the much acclaimed Peter Geekie Award for Pool Business of the Year, which applauds overall excellence on pool building and customer service.

Founded by brothers William and Stephen Booth, Alba Pools has been building pools for over twenty years, gaining a reputation for high quality products and excellent service throughout the UK. They pride themselves in attention to detail and stunning design. Their 3 Gold Awards were for; a new 25m school pool in Perthshire, a new luxury hotel spa pool in Edinburgh and the refurbishment of an existing domestic pool (which was originally built by the company 20 years ago) in Fife. The Silver Award was won for a stunning new hotel pool in Edinburgh.
